Curiosities

Pole position is very important for Monaco: as the race is held on a slower circuit, with tight corners and few overtaking spots, a good starting position can be essential for a positive result in Monte Carlo.

With this limitation in mind, F1 proposed a rule that made at least two pit stops mandatory during the race in Monaco, in an attempt to move the grid more. The change will be tested for the first time this weekend.

The last winner at Monte Carlo is home driver Charles Leclerc, but the driver with the most wins at Monte Carlo is Ayrton Senna; the three-time champion has six wins at the track.

Of the current grid, Lewis Hamilton leads the rankings, having won on three occasions. McLaren is in the lead, having been represented on the top step of the podium on 15 occasions.
